June 10 – Kahala Mall held its first job fair with more than 30 merchants participating.  Hawaii’s unemployment rate remains at enviable lows for job-seekers. [KHON]

June 8 – Tiki’s Fun Center will open at Koko Marina in the former Price Buster’s space. [PBN – Subscription required]

The Kahala Hotel’s request to take over public beach land for its weddings and other events continues to garner a backlash of protest.  The latest to weigh in on the issue is Civil Beat reporter Ian Lind. [Civil Beat]

June 6 – Hawaii Kai residents gatered for a town hall meeting at Hahaione Elementary to discuss a rash of crime in the community, including arson.  Following more than a dozen brush fires over the calendar year, a suspect was arrested on May 29.  Also discussed, were the crimes at Maunalua Bay, where canoes were vandalized in three separate incidents.
