June 6 – Hawaii Kai residents gatered for a town hall meeting at Hahaione Elementary to discuss a rash of crime in the community, including arson. Following more than a dozen brush fires over the calendar year, a suspect was arrested on May 29. Also discussed, were the crimes at Maunalua Bay, where canoes were vandalized in three separate incidents. [KHON]
