When we first moved to Koko Head Terrace in Hawaii Kai, we were disappointed to find a relatively quiet Halloween night scene. That is, until we discovered two big hotspots which keep us going back each year.
First off, there is #HongHalloween. Located on Hanamaulu Street, it is a must-see. (see leftmost red box on map) Secondly, there is the neighborhood just Northeast of it, on Nonou Street. (right side red box)
Here’s a tweet from a few years back — the Hongs pride themselves on their special day, a tradition going on decades, from what I’ve heard.
