They’re here! They were born on May 19, 2023 the same day and time as the Kaiser graduation. I kept them in the incubator for about 12 hours before putting them in a different incubator with food and water. Then, I kept them there for another day before transferring them to a brooder box, a storage container with the top adapted with wire mesh. To keep them warm, rather than use the usual incandescent light, I put an incubator top above it to regulate the temperature.
After two days, all 21 are doing well. I had hoped for a better hatch (from 50 eggs), but many of the eggs were infertile.
