It was an incredible plant exchange, or so I heard. I unfortunately got sick while on a trip, so skipped August’s swap. Fortunately, we have such an incredible batch of volunteers it went off without a hitch regardless. I stopped by to bring plants and set-up and take-down, and I hear I missed out on the party. As usual, the community shared its wealth: large pommelo (jabon), limes and even Molokai bread were shared alongside the usual plants and seeds.
Our usual backdrop is the gorgeous Koko Marina waterfront and we are fortunate enough to be right behind the live music tent. As part of 808 Craft and Gift Fairs too, Nick Sierra, Dave Toma and the Retro Kings performed. They were awesome.
Jan of 808 Ladybugs also posted a video to Instagram and in the afternoon put on a workshop on how to grow microgreens. She also brought the audience free samples of fertilizer from the organics company True. If you missed the demo, here’s Jan explaining the process:
