Many years ago, I pledged to complain about service only if I sent out seven other thank yous to balance the imbalance. People easily complain, but seldom ever formally thank workers. Even beyond shopping, I’d like to think I still have an informal process that reminds me to be more thankful than critical.
Fast forward to today. It is so easy to say thank you. Do it on a social media account and employers are doubly thrilled. A compliment here is one that immediately tells the public your company did a good job. Overall, I’m not a big fan of social media. However, the internet is a tool. It is what we do with this tool that defines who we are.
Remember to be openly thankful. It takes a lot less effort than ever before.
