How to Identify Plants Using your Smartphone

Posted on March 21, 2024

There are a number of apps available for identifying plants, but none is as accurate as Google Lens. Best of all, it’s available on all devices. If you use an Android device, simply go to images.google.com and click the center image on the search bar (see example). This will prompt you to allow the device to use your camera as your eyes and pick from all matching images on the internet.

For iPhone users, you may need to install the Google app in order to access Lens. The app is free, and many users already have it installed so they can access other Google features. On the app, you’ll see the same Google Lens icon which will allow you to use your Apple device to access the feature.

The app is about as accurate as you’ll get. It really revolutionizes search for all of us: a one-stop place to get the answers you need.
