Fresh cranberry sauce is nothing like what comes in a can. Today, I saw cranberries at Costco so I made my annual favorite by following the recipe on the bag with a ginger twist: 1 cup sugar, 1 cup water, 3 cups cranberry AND 1/3 cup candied ginger. Then, I saw something in my pantry that I normally don’t add, but added because it sounded good: dried mangoes.
I added about 5-6 mango pieces sliced 1/2″ wide to the mix. I think I have a new Thanksgiving tradition.
3 cups cranberries 1 cup sugar 1 cup water 1/3 cup candied ginger 5 pieces dried mango, sliced In a saucepan, bring all ingredients to a boil. Simmer until cranberries pop. Cool and serve.
