3 week old coturnix quail in Hawaii. brown, silver, tan

Time flies, and so do 3-week old quail

Posted on October 20, 2023

I hatched these at the beginning of October and they’re beginning to try to fly. Coturnix quail typically don’t really fly. Mostly they can go short distances airborne before falling back down to earth. That’s what they’re doing. Like little popcorn kernels.

I need to sell some. Readers can contact me at auntie@eastoahu96825.com for a special price of $7 each. If they’re not sold, I’ll post on Craigslist for a higher price. My birds reach near jumbo, usually around 10-14 ounces each. Most lay blue (celadon) eggs, but I haven’t kept the egg color genes separate so you might get a few with speckled brown ones. Some birds have silver coloration.
