Next Plant Exchange, January 10, 2023

The next plant swap will take place on January 10, 2023 from 4pm-6pm at the Kaiser HS parking lot. We are located on the Mauka side, furthest from the parking lot entrance.

Blue mist flowerBlue Mistflower, Wild Ageratum, Blue Boneset. Bushy plant with small, pretty lavender blooms
Bozu, purple flowerOften used for lei. Long-lasting round purple blooms, apprx. 1/2″ diam.
Carrot, PurpleFull sun, 65-70 days
CatnipHerb, can be used for tea but best known for exciting pet cats
Chili, Hawaiian chili pepperTypical red chili peppers. It ranges in between 50,000 and 70,000 on the Scoville scale.
ChivesStandard grocery store variety. Also grows out by root
Cilantro, cruiserSlow-bolt shorter variety, quicker germination
Cress, upland6–8″ rosettes of dark green, glossy, rounded leaves. Grow in cooler months.
Cucumber, Japan NokyaBest Japan variety cucumber IMHO
CulantroAlso known as recao, cilantro like flavor; heat tolerant
Daisy, Alaska shastaCutting flower, white with yellow center
DillTeddy variety
Eggplant, Thai, green roundCompact, well-branched plant with a prolific set of small, round fruits, avg. 1½-2″ in diameter.
EpazoteMexican herb used to flavor beans, etc.
FennelAn herb, spice and vegetable, bulb, seeds and fronds have anise-like flavor
Lettuce, magenta crispA red Summer Crisp with good flavor. Heat tolerant
Lettuce, Okayama saladHeat tolerant butterhead variety
Lettuce, salad bowl mixFull sun 45-50 days
Long beanEasy and prolific, needs to climb
Marigold, French SafariYellow through orange blooms, single color
MizunaMild green, use in soups or salads
Mustard cabbageUnknown variety, looks like the kind in the supermarket.
