A new study published in the Journal of Urban Economics by economists David Albouy, of the University of Illinois, and Bert Lue, of the University of Michigan finds that East Oahu, Hawaii, tops the list of household sacrifice to live in the best neighborhoods. According to the economists’ analysis; households sacrifice 25 percent more than the average American to live there. California’s Marin, San Mateo, and San Francisco are not far beyond.
