Whew, what a week. I want to thank all of our amazing volunteers, including our regulars that went to Kaiser on Tuesday to let others know where to find us this month.
We have a new date and location for upcoming Hawaii Kai plant exchanges. We will be holding future swaps on THIRD SATURDAYS at Koko Marina Center waterfront, between Assagio and Kim’s Korean BBQ. It’s that nice open area between the two buildings. We will be there Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 10 am to noon.
There will still be a donation jar for those who want to shop but feel the need to give. We’ll use some of the money to buy pots, labels and soil and donate past and future contributions to SEEQS, the School for Examining Essential Questions of Sustainability. It’s an amazing public charter school whose mission is sustainability and community.
I’d also like to formally introduce a couple of of our new key volunteers, Jan and Terence. Exchange regulars will probably recognize them right away by sight. For the longest time I just knew them as the really nice lady and man who brought huge hands of bananas and carefully wrapped cucumbers to share with all of us. They’re budding stars: YouTubers with sage advice on how you too can grow your own. I’m inserting one of their latest videos here. You can find them on Instagram and YouTube as 808.ladybugs.
