Hawaii Kai is home to a number of very good public schools. Elementary schools include Koko Head Elementary, Kamiloiki Elementary and Hahaione Elementary. The Middle School is Niu Valley and the High School is Kaiser. Hahaione, Niu Valley and Kaiser offer a full K-12 International Baccalaureate program. Nearby Aina Haina Elementary also feeds into Niu Valley Middle School.
Hawaii Kai Youth Baseball in-person registration takes place Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Koko Head District Park. Registration continues through May 2, and is open to new and returning players 5-12 years of age. See website for details.
Hawaii Storm is offering a 1-week Basketball Camp from June 8-June 11, 2015. The price is $110 for early registration before May 8, $130 thereafter. The camp will be held at the Kaiser High School Gymnasium in Hawaii Kai, East Oahu. More information is available on their website.
Hawaii's schools have notoriously short summer breaks. For public schools, the school year ends at the end of May and reconvenes in the later part of July. Many parents ask what options are available. I've begun compiling an informal listing of programs and links which can be found here.
